Safaris I Can See

Let us guide you on an unforgettable safari

Sean – The Private Guide

In the Begining…….

Sean Hind grew up in Harare and his passion for the African bush started at a very young age while exploring some of Zimbabwe’s prime safari areas with his family on camping trips.  It was from his young explorations of these areas that his interest in nature and the way it worked was sparked and grew.

After his schooling, Sean started his career working for a large and well known Safari operator who had camps all over Zimbabwe and Botswana. During his time there he worked in a number of their camps as Host/Assistant manager, as well as a tour guide for travel groups with the company, Overseas Adventure Travel.  During his free time Sean studied towards his Learner Guides Licence which he obtained in 2000. In 2003 he left and spent the next few years working at other camps around Lake Kariba as Assistant manager/Guide. Having spent 9 years working in the Matusadona National Park, Sean developed a passion for conducting walking safaris and had the opportunity to track Black rhino on a regular basis.

 Overseas….

In 2006 Sean spent a year working at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park in Kent, England on the African Experience section. Port Lympne is a park dedicated to endangered animal conservation and is part of the Aspinall Foundation. After his year in England, Sean retuned to Zimbabwe and carried on with his guiding in Matusadona. At the end of 2007 he obtained his full Professional Guides licence. After a couple of years he decided a change was in order and moved to Mana Pools National Park, where he spent 2010 and 2011 managing and guiding in various camps along the Zambezi River. In 2012 he moved into freelance guiding which allowed him the chance to work in most of the major National Parks in Zimbabwe, which broadened his knowledge of the variety of flora and fauna in the very different regions of Zimbabwe.

 Photography and Birding…..

Sean is a very avid photographer with a particular passion for wildlife photography. In addition, he has an interest in ornithology and is always on the look out for his next lifer! Sean’s particular focus and enjoyment in his guiding, is walking with clients and sharing his knowledge and love of the African bush with guests from all walks of life.
